Design
As a designer, I work closely with the client, to craft professional visual and user experience aspects of a website. This includes the overall layout, look and feel. The tool I use for design is Figma.
Development
As a developer, I build and maintain web applications and websites. I work closely with stakeholders, to convert already existing designs into functional web apps ready to be tested. Angular and React, are the tools I use for development.
Architecture
As an Architect, I work closely with the client to design and develop scalable, secure, and reliable cloud-based platforms and apps to meet business objectives. I hold a certification in Microsoft Azure Fundamentals.
Over the years,
Graduated with BSc (Information Systems) from Rhodes University.
This 3-year degree equiped me with the foundational knowledge to become a computer specialist in a commercial environment. It follows a different curriculum than the ordinary BSc.
Started as a C# developer for Singular Systems (Pty) Ltd.
In this role, my duties were to maintain and to add features to already existing systems for our clients. I became more competent in C#, Javascript, SQL and reporting in this role. I also learn't valuable career habits from the skilled team mates I had around me.
Started as a Commercial Developer for RedScreen (Pty) Ltd.
In this role, the specialization was within the data space, where we improved reporting turnaround time, and wrote optimized SQL scripts for data transformation and migration.
Joined Entelect as a Software Engineer.
In this role, my duties were to work as a software consultant and assist clients with the building and maintenance of their systems. I worked with Hollard, Standard Bank and Anglo American while in this role.
Joined Investec as a Software Developer (API).
In this role, I was part of the Investec Developer team, whose responsibility to create API's for the public or to integrate with other companies. My duty was to create front-ends that would make it easier for Investec clients to use this technology.
Joined the JSE as a Senior Developer.
In this role, my duties are to assist with the development and maintenance of internal JSE systems and to provide support with designated systems assigned to our team. The tech used in this role is Blazor, C#, ASP.NET, .NET CORE and SQL Server.
